CHARACTER RULES
▼
♞
This section of the rules contains all and everything to do with roleplay characters and everything surrounding them. Please read through this section before making your first character on Auroria, preferably read it while making your second as well, for the third, you should know these by heart .Basics
▼
Characters in Auroria follow very few guidelines, in how they can be created and what they can be. The first thing is first, no characters can be related to a higher power, this meanings gods, demigods, devils etc. Everyone starts at the same point here.
Secondly, a characters backstory can be grand and filled with adventure, but when they come into the world aka when someone starts to roleplay them, the character is still mostly unknown. Their fame, which is explained in more detail in the fame rules, can have a slight boost from their backstory/history, but that's it. You need to make your character a name or even make them into a legend, it's all determined what you do in roleplay.
Thirdly, the character must make sense in the world of Auroria. The world is a fantasy world, that's going through an industrial revolution in some parts, creating a steampunk world, so in no way can a character have sci-fi level gear, it just wouldn't make sense. This also goes into the race part of Auroria, but more about that along the line.
These are the three basic guidelines for the site, that all characters must follow. If a character clashes with any of these, you will be asked for an edit.
Races
▼
There is a multitude of playable races in Auroria and every character must stick to these. In no way is a custom race allowed, as it would break the site's story. These races are basically the core to the site and of which the story is based off, alongside the factions.
Now each character can pick a race they want/like the most, there is no restrictions who can play what race. Any race can also join any faction, no limits on that either. Just some factions have larger populations of some races, due to the cities/locations they are based in.
A character's race determines their physical look, which is quite broad still. Also, a character's race would give a rough estimate on their basic physical ability, as this goes into their biological build. Though all of this is more explain in the glossary, under the races section.
That's it for the races, nothing hard there, pick your favorite and make a char with them .
Face Claims
▼
Face Claims aren't 100% necessary for chars, but they are good to give an estimate for what the character looks like, which is very helpful to others. Now there are a few restrictions on face claims.
Firstly, all face claims must be from an anime/game or drawn. There can be no irl face claims. This is to just keep consistency for the look of the site, mixing the two types of face claims, would get quite strange.
Secondly, all face claims must be registered on the face claim list, please do this after your character is completed.
Reserving, you can reserve a face claim for a month at once and only if you already have a character on the site.
And just for a guideline, your character doesn't have to resemble your face claim 100%. Like for example, you have an Angelic race character, who by their description, have wings on their back, but your face claim doesn't. That is totally okay.
That's it for face claims.
Powers & Combat
▼
In your character application, aside from your character, you can make any kind of powers, fighting styles, weapons for that char as you want. There really aren't any limits to it, but keep everything reasonable. No one is a true superpower here at the get go, growing in role-play is a thing. You can have flashy powers and be quite strong, but no wiping out cities or defeating the strongest monsters in a single hit, you aren't One Punch Man
Alternate Characters
▼
Auroria allows people to make multiple characters for them to role-play as. Though to avoid thousands of random characters on the site, there are some limits in place. For starters everyone can make a second account, when their first account has reached 50 posts. After that, they can make a third when the second has reached 50 posts. This goes on until the person has 3 characters. To get a 4th and a 5th char, they must ask an admin to approve them being able to make one. The approval is based on the activity of the 3 previous chars, showing that the person asking is capable of handling a larger number of threads/characters.
Other limits for alternate accounts include the racial and faction points. You can't have two characters in the same faction or two characters in the same race. This way the site avoids one faction or race becoming too dominant and adds variety.
Also, for a new character, you are required to create a new account.
