Fame and Quests Rules
▼
♞
This section contains all the main rules for the fame system and quests that are a part of the site. Please be vary of these, as they play a big part on how Auroria works and how a character gets to be known.Fame
▼
Fame is earned from completing quests and doing certain actions. It doesn't determine much about your character, but just how known your char is to the world of Auroria.
Fame works on a point system and rank system, which is located below, though the ranks are just rough estimates at certain points and to deduct your real fame, you just see where you are at.
Ranks to Fame
▼
At 1000 fame, a character is known all over Auroria and by every single faction. In their own faction, they may be even the leader and to other factions, they are major threats or the greatest of allies.
At 800 fame, a character is very well known, though some places may still find them new. In their faction, the character will be very famous and one of it's face most likely, even capable of being a leader. To other factions, the character may be a high level threat or a good ally, depending on the faction of course.
At 600 fame a character is known in big cities, but may not be recognized instantly. In their own faction, the char is known by most and can hold quite high positions, to other factions though, they are most likely a low level threat, not someone they would necessarily worry about.
At 400 fame, a character is known in some big cities, but usually isn't recognized. In their faction, their actions are known by most, but they aren't ranked high. To other faction, the character is basically a no-body.
At 200 fame, a character isn't very well known anywhere, possibly only in the cities of their faction. In their faction, they are known by lower ranked members, but high ranks haven't paid much attention to them, though this depends on the faction. To other faction, this character is a no-body.
At 0 fame, a character isn't known at all, by anyone, they are just a civilian.
Clarifications
▼
Fame is always a rough estimate and can depend on other things as well, like ic connections to other characters. And fame can vary from faction to faction, to how well known a char is to them, but news spreads, so high fame chars are always known by factions.
Quests
▼
Quests are done in order to earn fame. They can involve anything you wish, though their fame output is determined by the staff member who reads through them. Quests are started whenever a person wants, but they must have at least 20 posts, not less. If done together with others, each person must post at least 15 times. Word counts in quests, should be at least 250 words per post, but more posts and larger word counts, will earn you more fame. Though the context does matter as well, if you spend half the quest getting ready, your fame reward will go lower.
Quest Restrictions.
▼
Quests can be about most things you want, though to keep it realistic, you aren't allowed to go and assassinate the leader of another faction for example, or to make an invasion to a city happen, which you alone will fix or cause natural disasters. These can be done on a small village level though. This is why events are there and their yields to fame are much greater, though it depends on what you did during the event. Event rules depend from event to event, so no point in putting them here. Just to remind, be realistic with your quests, think about what people would ask of you or what would be needed within your faction. Go to hunt some creatures for example, though no gods or beings that are unrealistically strong.
New Characters
▼
If your character has died, you may create a new one, though you can keep half the fame you have earned previously. This is done to avoid high fame chars from popping up randomly, which is something not good for the story of the site.
